This is my father whose father is unknown. His mother was Florence Gertrude Hunt dob 24/06/1891 in North Cerney .1901 the family were living in kiingsSt Cheltenham .CENSUS01911 she was a servant to a family of Morant 85Dukes Avenue Brentford Chiswick Middx with her sister Ada. Her motherBessie nee Hill was inWycombe wher e my father was born.

SORRY I DID NOT ASK A QUESTION I WAS HOPING THAT THE NFORMATION I GAVE EG NAMES , ADDRESSES ETC WOULD RING A BELL TO SOMEONE AND POSSIBLY GET NEARER TO TRYING TO FIND MY PATERNAL GRANDFATHER

If there was no father named on the birth certificate, the likelyhood of anyone other than perhaps a living relative of your father knowing the name of you paternal grandfather is rather slim.

There is a school of thought that second forenames are sometimes a clue to the father of illegitimate children.....but don't take it for granted that it applies in this case.

The child born 1913 died......I must say it seems unlikely that he wasn't also Florence's child

Maybe the middle name of Hill came from Bessie Hill mother of Florence Gertrude Hunt..

in1901 census Florence ws with her parents in gloucestrshire In 1911 her mother bessie nee HILL was living inHIGH WYCOMBEand Florence were in service with a sister in middlesex .
1921 census may shed some light on my fathers born 1915 and ? another child was born to florence 1913

By the other child born 1913 do you mean the one also named Rowland who died soon after birth?
