Hi,
Our family thinks that our grandfather was Harold Beney, who had five children all registered in Battle or Hastings, Sussex. They are: Harold 1921, Ivy 1924, Kenneth 1927, Joyce 1929, Donald 1931. They all have a mother whose maiden name is Wood (and Harold is our direct ancestor).

I can't find Harold marrying a Wood (about 1920), and I'm wondering if his name was actually Harold. Can anyone help with this please?

The mother could have been married before...........these births were all shortly after WW1 ended

If Harold born 1921 is your father.....buy his birth cert, for full details of the names of his parents

Why have you chosen Harold as the possible first name for your grandfather?

The only Harold Beney on freebmd apart from your father was born in 1897..and died as an infant
