Robert - you must know something else to have arrived at his name. How is he connected in your family? |

Perhaps the 1835 George died and the parents called the 1837 child after him. |

Quite possible Kath - names were often recycled back then. |

I had assumed (I know I shouldn't) that he died in the USA. |

Yes, you have got the parents right - I hadn't known about the first George though. |

Did he die in the USA or in England? Could the death that MariieCeleste found be him? |

I think what MarieCeleste was meaning by "I'm puzzled by the dates in your posts" was how could someone writing a letter in the 1950's be certain of something that happened 90 years earlier unless he had documentary proof - like a death certificate. |

Freddrick was a nephew. Thus I would have thought that his father would have kept him right. |

Robert - no, we can't see your tree! The only people who can see it are those that you invite, that's why you need to give as much info as possible when you're posting for help on these boards. |

This does sound rather like it. After all his father was a carpenter before he became a Methodist Minister (in fact a carpenter to royality) maybe this is another story they made up. :-) |
