I've been looking for this man's birth or census records for many years with no luck. In 1901 ans 1911 he's living in south wales at Briton Ferry, Neath. He got married in 1900 to a Hannah Johnson, and he says his father id Thomas Jones (labouror). |

As far as his birth certificate is concerned. Although civil registration began in 1837 it was not until 1874 that birth registration was made compulsory. Consequently a lot of births went unregistered. |

yes that could be him i wasn't aware that it didnt become law until 1874. |

I don't think he was a smith, he could have been one in 1868, perhaps he was just a lab in the year 1900 |

Jonesey i think u may have found them. It's the same family, i notice that price jones is on both the 71 and the 91 census. It's a big move from north wales to south, most people from north wales went Liverpool to find work. |
