Hi,

I have been researching this name for 10 years + and have a real brick wall as my 4 x gt grandfather Evan Maddy was buried in Glasbury Churchyard but the only record in the Church records is that he is there and his name. There is no date of birth or death and no hint of where he originated from. I believe he was born around the 1720-40 range and that Anne was his second wife. His previous wife Margaret and he were married at Llanigon in 1760 and he and Anne were married 1766 at Llanigon. His wife Anne is in the same grave but she was stated to be 62 and died 1806 living at Tregoyd, Brecs about a mile from Glasbury. As my family seem to have come from Llanigon, Brecs another village about 3 miles away (by modern road) it seems feasible to believe that is where he originated from.

It is feasible that Evan married two sisters as Anne and Margaret 's maiden name were both Price but I can find no record of Margaret' Maddys death around the area.

There do not seem to be any modern people researching the name Maddy or else I have gone back too far for most to follow. I would just be grateful if anyone is researching the name even if they have not got so far back to get in touch as I have treated this as a one name survey and have made up many branches of the Maddy family and it would help if there is anyone out there who has some information relating to any of these branches which would solidly confirm whether I have them in the right branch of the trees.
