Thank you all so much.

I've been laid low for 48 hours with a bug from youngest grandson - so generous!!

My great aunt's maiden name was GOLDSCHMIDT, i.e., Caroline Goldschmidt. So the brother Limmer doesn't fit.

She married my great uncle, Paul Simon; he was sadly exterminated in the Auschwitz concentration camp after he was deported there from Paris.

Thank you again.

This looks like Frieda's arrival in US:

New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957
Name: Frieda W Stock
Arrival Date: 16 Oct 1937
Birth Year: abt 1894
Birth Location: Germany
Birth Location Other: Neumarkt
Age: 43
Gender: Female
Ethnicity/RaceĀ/Nationality: German;Hebrew (German)
Place of Origin: Germany
Friend's Name: Fanny Mendelsohn
Port of departure: Le Havre, France
Port of arrival: New York, New York
Port Arrival State: New York
Port Arrival Country: United States
Ship Name: De Grasse

She's travelling with Gerson ?? age 55, a merchant.

Next of kin in Germany is brother Herman Limmer, 134 Breiteweway, Magdebrg, Germany. Going to a cousin Fanny Mendelsohn, 25 Wet 86th Street, New York (it may be her husband's cousin)

If this follows through then your aunt's maiden name would be Limmer - does that fit?

On her emigration papers from Germany to Ecuador via New York in 1941, my great aunt gave her contact/sponsor's name in New York as FRIEDL STOCK.

I would be very grateful if some kind soul could please look up this lady's details in New York for me and let me know what you find.

She just may have some connection with the family and so that would be good to see.

Many thanks.
