You've certainly got a lot of information to plough through David.

Arthur born 1871/1872 is your grandad.
Thomas born 1825/1826 is your great grandad
Thomas born c.1796 is your great, great grandad.

That means the 1796 Thomas is a 4 x great grandad to your grandchildren.

This is a great hobby but you will also find it a very expensive hobby if you intend to back up all the information with certificates - which is always best for accuracy.

Good luck.

Wonder if this relates to him?

British Postal Service Appointment Books, 1737-1969
Name: Arthur Rhodes
Date Appointed: 8 Oct 1894

The position to which he was appointed was "skilled lineman" and the location was E in CO - which is obviously short for something but I can't think what.

and then there's this:

British Postal Service Appointment Books, 1737-1969
Name: Arthur Rhodes
Date Appointed: Feb 1907
Place Appointed: London

Appointed to the position of porter (ties in with the 1911).
