hi am trying to find info on a ernest spencer born 1883 he was a groom in the 3rd 4th battalion alexandra princess of wales own yorkshire regiment in 1916 i have tried for years to find info but to no avail could any one help many thanks david hullah |

sorry yes he was born 1883 in guisborough yorkshire and his parents were william spencer b 1847 burton pidsea and his mother jane e spencer b1852 guisborough he married annie hullah in yafforth north yorkshire in 1915 |

Are you sure of his regiment and that he was enlisted - not seeing a medal card on National archives or A*. The regiment (known as Green Howards) has a website and provides a search, although you have to pay. Did he survive the war - I can't see his death on CWG? |

all i no is from a birth certificate for his son william who was born january 1916 and under occupation of father it is given as private3rd 4th battalion alexandra princess of wales own yorkshire regiment groom domestic sorry that is all info ihave many thanks david hullah |
