I'm trying to find out more information about my great grandfather. He married my great grandmother Gertrude Ellen Clark (maiden name Coombes) 1911 in Croydon. My grandmother Jessie Agnes was born 1916 in Wandsworth, London. Robert Currie died 1951 in Surrey.

Thank you very much for this information. My grandmother had a half brother named Ernie (Earnest) and they lived in Mitcham. I didn't know Robert Currie's father's name or occupation.

You would require to obtain either the marriage or death cert to confirm who the father of Robert Currie was.
If he was the son of William Rankin Currie as per the 1901 census posted by Glitterbaby, then his mother would be Janet Dodson.
William Rankin Currie and Janet Dodson married in Glasgow in 1881.
