Two messages received

Two of James Ballantyne's children have McKinley in their names and I do not know the connection. Is it through James Ballantyne's family of his wife Jane Smith? The children are Jane McKinley Ballantyne and John McKinley Ballantyne

On the 1861 Census James Ballantyne and his wife Jane Smith had two children with McKinley as a second name, Jane McKinley Ballantyne aged 5 and John McKinley Ballantyne aged 2. Cannot find where the connection with the McKinley family came from. Have not done much research in Scotland and don't know where to start.

Hello Jean and welcome to the community boards.

If you click on Search (above right) and then on Search all Trees, you can enter the name you are researching and you will see that there are several other people on this site beside you, who have James in their tree. It may be worth contacting the tree owners to see if they have any further information for you.

Regards. Cx
