I,m trying to find my grandfathers ancestors his name was Thomas Brown, the only thing I know about him is that he married my grandmother Fanny Agnes Singleton in Southport, Lancashire in April 1st 1908 giving his age as 37 years, It states on the marriage certificate that his father was Daniel Brown (deceased) occupation engineer.
It says Thomas Brown was a batchelor and his occupation was a tailor. The marriage took place at Holy Trinity Church, Southport, Lancashire.
Unfortunately I also have his death certificate, he died in May 1909 aged 38 years from TB.
I am aware that you do not take things on marriage certificates as the gospel truth but that is all I have to go on and I have hit a brick wall with Thomas, can anybody help, I do not have access to Scottish or Irish records and maybe that,s where the answer may be, :-( Colin Southport.

Were there any possible Brown relations listed as witnesses at the wedding?

He may be, but his age was given as 37 years on certificate so that would make his birth year c 1871 Colin

Do you have an address for him on the cert? A long shot but worth seeing who else lived there 1911.
