Hi, i am still looking for any info on John William Newman, i have his ship passage to NY but wondered if the directories might tell me anything.

He was living at 2245-64st Brooklyn NY in 1947.

I wonder if he one of the 3 top hits
in the social security index.

Any help appreciated. mfm

If this is your post on Rootschat, then the SSDI is incorrect

John William Newman marriage

Hello, i have a John William Newman brn 1922 faversham going to Brooklyn NY in 1947 to be with his wife Alice N Newman.
I dont know wether they married in America,

I am hoping they married in Kent,i think from the record of John going to the USA though 1942 and 1945 they could have married there.

There is also a record of a Alice Newman going from Southampton to NY in 1947.

If he was born 1922, he might still be living - try http://www.whitepages.com/
If you know Alice's dob, you could search the SSDI for her. If listed, it would give the last address that benefit payments were sent to.
