You really need the marriage cert to confirm her age and fathers details if shown. The name is very common.

You can't hope to locate her in census records until you find out when and where she was born

The marriage cert will give you her declared age.....and father's details....which will be a starting point

How are you connected to this woman?

What name was represented by the 'M'?

She was my grandmother but left no paperwork when she died and never ever talked about her past.
Her name was Alice Mary and I seem to remember her mentioning they called her husband Taffy...so maybe he was welsh.
Can't get any more info as there is only my aunt and mother left alive and they haven't spoken for years.
Mum will not discuss anything about her past..she's bit of a matriach (did I spell that correctly...lol)

They could both have been Welsh, with the surnames they had

When did your grandmother die?

Who gave you the 'info' about Alice's siblings?

Now that you have an idea of her birth year, try freebmd............

Your mother may not speak to your aunt.........but that shouldn't stop you from asking her for info
