Sue, don't know if your John Hadfield was anywhere near Macclesfield but I came across this:

London Gazette - Saturday July 9th 1791

An article with testimonials about CORNWELL'S ORIENTAL VEGETABLE CORDIAL

Information has alfo been received in a letter addreffed to Mr Cornwell from Mr John Hadfield of Macclesfield, dated June 22nd 1791, of the efficacious properties of the Cordial on a Gentlewoman and her Servant, being relieved from alarming Complaints of the Bowels.

Hi Susan,

Have you checked on here to see if anyone has these names in their tree?

I am currently looking for connections between the Hadfield family of Crowdenbrook and the Manners family, specifically one of the illigitimate daughters possibly Manners/Sutton c1762 - c1783 who married John Hadfield(Hatfield) 1756 - 1803, also any of their offspring possibly three daughters.
