Hi Simon,
I just googled the ship name, and it came up with quite a bit about the ship.....passenger names etc..
the girls were the only Maxwells on the ship...I will look into finding more for you.

kind regards, Lorraine in sunny Trinity Park, Cairns.

Not sure if it is the same site, but there is mention of the girls here

Edit - the links at the top of that page ( Arrival of the barque Earl Granville,
Captains Report for the Earl Granville) give details about the illnesses

Lorraine,

Can you add anymore for me please.
Do you know parents of the girls or any other Maxwells they were travelling with.
You say you are reading about the trip! Is there a website I should log onto?

Regards,

Simon.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a Mary Ann Maxwell with sister Martha b 1861 and 1863 (not sure who was the oldest). I understand they sailed to New Zealand in 1879ish. Ship was Earl Granville.

Can anyone find anything that tallies.

Ta,

Simon.
