Have you tried looking for them in Canada? A lot of Canadian immigrants travelled via America.

A brief glance at the 1870, 1880 and 1900 US census (1890 largely destroyed) has failed to identify any Moorer's who were born in England who may have been those who landed in New York between 1841~1886.

I have also looked at UK incoming passenger lists from 1878 onwards but no sign of them returning to the UK either I'm afraid.

I know of a William Moore born about the correct time and his parents were William and Jane Moorer so perhaps it is mother and son

Do these people turn up on any USA census returns? how can I find out what happened to them in the US/

On the a original for Chris I think his age is 40 but he is a farmer and not travelling with other Moorer's. It does also say Chris'r for Christopher and Male

Thomas b 1857 was a Blacksmith

Jane was listed as wife of William but there is a BIG age difference. 28 years

I am trying to trace the Moorer family. I have the basic ancestry but I see that there is a record of Moorers going into USA as follows:-

These from England or UK but I am unable to see any further details.
