I dont no if my query should be on here but dont no where else to go.
I am trying to buy a death cert from GRO for 1971, I put in all info but it asks me date of death, record only tells me the Quarter, so wont let me go any further.
can anyone point me in right direction? thank you

Hi Rita............do you mean the year of death?

I can't remember ever being asked for the date before.

I am sure someone will give you better info soon but 'I think' that you just ignore that question and carry on to the next step where you have the option to put in the year, quarter and reference number ect.???

Hi Veggie - have you ticked the box where it asks if you have the GRO reference? If you have then you shouldn't be asked for an actual date.

It asks you......

The age at death in years.........

It then ask's you.........Is the GRO Index Reference Number known?

Which is the Vol and Page Numbers..........you tick that....

Add the year in which the event was registered.............then click "Submit" and move on to the next page.

I think it only ask's you the date of death if you haven't ticked .............."Is the GRO Index Reference Number Known"
