Jacob Bird 1842 ....Can you find a marriage ?

I had looked at Elizabeth Washband on a few occasions but she came from Walsall and Jacobs wife according to census's was born in Balsall Heath / Kings Norton. I've alway's thought it was Elizabeth Phillips but have never been able find a marriage ? Will now take the advise of "patchem" and send for the birth certificate of one of the children.............can't believe I did not think of that myself......As for a marriage !! may be they never got around to it ?? 	Hmm the 1862 marriage is the only one on FreeBmd :-( You will have to do as patchem suggests and get a child's birth certificate.

	Two different Jacob Bird's I think. 1881 Chilvers Cotton Warwickshire D 8 >38 Jacob Birch (Bird) coalminer Elizabeth born Astley Warwickshire @ 1843 nee Washband Jacob 15 They also had many other children.This Jacob married Rachel Dean in Staffs O/N/D 1886 and is on 1891 census with her. 1881 27,Hockley Hill birmingham D 9 . 15 Jacob Bird born Middleton a painter and glazier Elizabeth born 1842 Balsal Heath Rose M and others. Maryb Edit a tree on Ancestry says he married Elizabeth Phillips born 4/12/1841 Balsall heath but no record attached,her parents William Phillips and Emma Insley born 1816. 1851 Elizabeth with widowed mum.

	One of the children's birth certificates will have their Mother's maiden name on it.

	Have you seen this marriage? Marriages Mar 1862 (>99%) Bird Jacob Walsall 6b 618 Washband Elizabeth Walsall 6b 618 Walsall isn't far away from West Bromwich.

Member Since: June 2003 Posts: 5 Send Message	I started building my family tree about 8 Years ago. My gr gr grandfather Jacob Bird abt 1842 was born in Middleton, Warwickshire. I've managed to find him in every census from 1851 up to 1911. So I have a list of all his children and I know that his wife was Elizabeth also born abt 1842/43 in Balsall Heath/ Kings Norton, Birmingham. But I've never been able to find a Marriage. I'm now having second thoughts that I've got the right Elizabeth. It would be much appriciated if some one could discover a surname for me which will prove me right or wrong. David.
