I am having real trouble finding the entry for Robert Scob(b)ie in scotlandspeople. Probably due to poor and inconsistent spelling of names in those days...

I have found a baptismal date on IGI, but the accuracy comes from the register entry...

If you have the marriage cert then you have the names of his parents.

Have you looked on IGI for a baptism?

Hello John, you'd need to use the Search facility (above right) to see if anyone has him in their tree. It's unlikely anyone with a connection will see your posting by chance.

Are you unable to find anything on Scotland's People using the free search?

I have marriage, death and various census entries for Robert Scob(b)ie.

Does anyone in the Scobie family group have a copy of the scotlandspeople entry for birth, or at least the OPR reg. no.?
