lost registration of birth

On the 1911 census we have found our Grandfather ALBERT EDWARD MADELEY b 1908 in Sheffield.His mother is Maria Louisa Madeley, living at home with her parents in Sheffield.We think his father was Albert Edward Beighton b Sheffield 1887, but he is in the military.Albert and Maria married in 1913.Young Albert took Beighton as his surname We cannot find Albert Edward 's birth either as Madeley or Beighton. would he have to have been registered. :-S :
