Find Ancestors

I have one child's birth cert - she is still alive, so we know that she really was Matilda Hoar.
We have also seen a child listed as a granddaughter on her parents census page - Matilda Jane Baker. We are obtaining the birth cert to see if she was a child of Matilda or one of her sisters.

Thanks we do actually hold his original service record - where he states his second wife but not Matilda. We are thinking she may have been amrried before to a man called Baker - ro at least lived as Mrs Baker???

Why such a wide timescale?

I am looking for a marriage for Arthur James Whatley and Matilda Hoar - possibly in the Hampshire area.
it might be between 1901 - 1926 He was a sailor serving at Portsmouth.
Any info on either of them would be very helpful
