Not sure if this is the right board to ask this, but I need to add a second marriage to one of my relatives. I did try but what came up on the tree was a copy of the relative's name joined to the second marriage.

Is there a way to attach two marriages to one name?

might be better to ask on Genealogy Chat

I have just tried this and it seems fine. I do see what you mean, visually the 2nd spouse is connected to 1st spouse. However, if you try adding a child, it picks up the link OK.

Thanks for the replies. Looking at it I suppose it's because the original marriage is in the original maiden name and of course the second marriage would give an individual a new surname - so therefore it's technically a new person. Maybe I should keep the original name and see if that works.
