Not sure that he was a particularly prominent person in the town although he was well known.
Hoped that an obit might give me some clue about 2 of his daughters who had married, but are no where to be found in 1901 or 1911.
Yes Reggie, I have the cert,so I know where the family were living when he died. I think he had probably been ill for some time as one of his youngest daughters was living with my grandfather & his wife in York. He died of TB caused by inhaling the fibre from fabrics he worked with.
Marie Celeste.
A death notice would be good to have. Thanks

Sorry, not finding anything - not even a probate record.

As you have the actual DOD, one assumes you have the cert............

Any reason to think that an obit. was published?

If you think there would have been, contact the Evening Chronicle to ask if they are prepared to search their archives.

Or the Newcastle public library..............

Hi, was he a prominent figure in the community? If you're meaning an actual obituary article then they weren't usually written for ordinary people.

I'll have a look for a death notice - what is it you're actually trying to find from it?

Looking for an obit for my g grandfather Henry Norman.
He was a tailor in Newcastle & died 17th November 1901 (b abt 1845).
He had a wife Mary, 8 or 9 surviving children & numerous grandchildren.
Any help would be much appreciated.
