Wm A Fryett & the Royal School for the Deaf

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

RolloTheRed Report 15 Sep 2012 10:28

William A Fryett was b. Ardesier nr Fort George, Scotland abt 1880.
His father was Wm Hy Fryett b. Essex abt 1829.

Wm Snr. was a shoemaker who enlisted with the Royal Artillery. He married (2) a Sarah Burgan from Ireland. By 1881 Wm. was discharged from the army with a pension and settled at Walton, Suffolk as a shoemaker. He later returned to Woolwich still working as a shoemaker and died there 1892. His wife Sarah settled in
Lincolnshire with one of her children.

In 1891 Wm A Fryett (prob Arthur) had been placed with the Royal School for the Deaf at Margate. That is the last record I can find for him.

The name Fryett is sometimes entered as Fryatt.

The old Royal School has closed and looks to be about to be converted into a developer's project.

Any suggestions?

thankyou

Andrew
