yay! the certificate came today, ada was a widow now, georges father was thomas. they remained unfindable though on the census until i googled "cross street" which was given as their address.. and came across a whole pile of "lock"'s so i looked up george lock, thomas lock, and bingo! i think i may have found them all living in assington, suffolk, with a massive family! |

George is a complete mystery, so i will chase up his marriage certificate. As for mr.cuthill i can't find anything on him except that ada named her first two kids with his name and referred to herself as married, i will have to carry on delving deeper :-) |

If you want to find out more about George then you really need to get his marriage certificate to find out how old he was when he married and what information is given about his father. |

i managed to find a ivy locke (1916) and a lennard locke (1912) with ada as their mother, by a chance finding, though i had always thought lennard was cuthill.. so am hoping this will throw some new light on the matter... thanks for the replies guys x |

Any idea what happened to Ada's first husband? Did George take on the children from her first marriage, as shown in 1911: |

i am really stuck on george locke, my gt.grandfather. he married ada cuthill (nee martin 1881), in sudbury in 1912, and they had twins eric and eileen locke in 1919, also in sudbury. other than that i have no information on him whatsoever, and i would desperatly love to know a little more about him, any help at all would be much more than appreciated, thankyou guys xxx |
