I presume you have checked out the Mary Chown in Poplar on 1901 census

No rule that one out as husband is Fred

Yes.he married a Mary Ann Chown in Chelsea in 1881 (the other one married a Mary Ann as well !)

No-no children they were visitors , that was why I wanted to check the 1901,it looks as if they had no children who survived

His wife - Mary - was born in Devon

In 1911 they were in Dorset

Can someone with access help please ?

Mark Scott born 1856 Christchurch Hampshire
I have him in -1871 and 1881 and in 1891 he is a cheesemonger in Chelsea

In 1911 he is in Devon but I cannot find him in 1901 -can you ? :-)

There is another Mark Scott born 1858 at Wickham Hants who turns up in Sheffield-it is NOT that one !!
