As John Hedley was NOT with family in any census, I'm still not sure how you have drawn the conclusions about his father

Certs cost the equivalent of £9.25 sterling including postage no matter where in the world you live.

Hi Reggie! Thanks for your assistance. Through my research on the various websites I did find John Hedley's father but not mother and also his grandfather.This came from Census . John Hedley was my great, great grandfather. I am pretty limited with my searches as I do not live in UK and cannot get certificates that easily due to costs. Yes, I also looked at the census for 1881 but It did not reveal anything . Thanks again!

Unfortunately I am not always able to apply for certificates from the UK as I live in South Africa and they cost quite a bit with the rate of exchange so all my searches are done through websites two of which I subscribe to. However, do appreciate your help.

Having checked 1871 and 1881, I'm not sure how you can say you know who his father was, without having purchased at least one cert.

I have been battling to find marriage details of the above. The only possibility is the following:-

John Quant m Ann Maria Bastone Exeter 5b 133 March 1863

There appear to be quite a few John Quants in the records and I am not sure if the above marriage relates to John born in about 1863

John Quant's father and mother were George Quant and Maria Butt and his son was John Hedley Quant born approx 1863.

I am also not sure if John Hedley Quant had siblings.

I would appreciate your help here.
