Im sure it says 'widow' next to Hannah on the above? She is listed as the daughter and only 21? Maybe a mistkae

George gives his place of birth as Withersdale, Suffolk on the 1881 census. On the 1871 census he gives it as Yarmouth, Norfolk!

I was trying for the birth cert and i am looking for her mother's name i have check on ancestry and alot of people on there have it as Jane although the partner to jane is William he is not a carpenter was wondering if he could have change his job


there is also Jessie and George as siblings in this family

According to census returns and her death registration she appears to have been born later than 1848. She certainly gadded about a lot at the time of her birth.

N.B. I note that witnesses at her marriage were a George and a Jessie Wiles (Siblings?). I also notice that her first child was named Jessie.

Always worth remembering that although civil registration began in 1837 it was not until 1874 that not registering a birth was punishable. Consequently a lot of births were not registered.
