Could anyone please help me to find a DEATH record for Geoerge Forbes, He was born in PENNSYLVANIA est.1806 I have him on the 1860 CENSUS, in VIRGINIA, Wifes name Eliza. son Hannibal Forbes. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks again ! I think those two can both be discounted. :-( Would you please check to see if there is a death for Eliza Forbes (his wfe) Est: birth 1816 Virginia, USA. I am actually trying to find the name of George Forbes' father who emmigrated to the US from Scotland. If I can find the death certificates or marriage for George and Eliza It would really help.

Must surely be the same family as this is the only Hannibal Forbes I can see on whole of 1860.

On the 1850 the wife was Eliza and George was a carpenter.

I'd say this was definitely the death of the George Forbes in the 1860 I posted, which still needs to be proved to be the same George as in the 1850.

Hi Marie, You are really good at this :-D That death for 1877 would deffinately be the right one. He apparently did re-marry......Would you have any idea how I could find out his father's name ? Is there any record of children from his marriage to Sarah ? Or a death for Sarah ?

The problem is that BMDs for USA aren't like ours where we have one national index - theirs were recorded seperately by state/county. Many aren't on-line and many records just didn't survive.

I've looked at very early immigration records but impossible to say which Forbes would have been yours.
