Old Report 6 Sep 2012 09:36

Sarah was born 25 May 1832 in Sudbury, Suffolk to Joseph Nicholls and his wife Sophia Smith.

She married Samuel Neave in 1849 in Sudbury - his second wife (First wife Eliza died 1848)

She had several children, including Alice Mary Nicholls Neave born 10 March 1874 in Sudbury.

Alice moved to Australia when 9. There is a note in the family book of the Wilson, Neave and Clark families of Kangaroo Island -"Alice Nichollas Neave, after the death of her mother, Alice arrived from England on her own aged 9 years. She married a Kangaroo Islander, John Wright and immigrated to Zion City, Illinois, in the United States of America to follow their religion. "Followers of God". they had 13 children"

I have been unable to trace the death of Sarah Neave (born Nicholls) other than a death in 1903. This death appears in most family trees.

Would appreciate if you could trace her death prior to 1883.

As a secondary query - On the 1881 Census, Sarah is a widow and Head of the family. She is shown with 2 children Samuel and Alice, and a grandson William aged 8. Who were his parents?

Thanks in advance

Arthur
