Thank you for all the other information. I want to find a photo of him but my nan destroyed all the ones she had.

He died in June 1986 in a hospital in Worksop. Can't remember the informants name think it was someone Jackson but I think they have died as well.

The chances of anyone who knew him seeing this are almost nil. Have you tracked down a record of his death? This might help as you will at least have name of an informant.
If he died 1970-2006, his exact date of birth can be used to look for a death - provided the informant knew it obviously! Do you happen to know it?

I am trying to trace anyone who knew my grandad Thomas Armstrong born 1910 in South Shields. He married Elsie Asher in 1933 but they separated in 1950 where he went to live in Bircotes near Doncaster.
