What do you mean by "any info"? What do you already have re census, parents, death, etc?

(Just so's we don't duplicate your own research) :-)

Births Sep 1897
Ridgley Elizabeth May Wycombe 3a 779

maybe !! there are several Elizabeth Ridgley that could be her. You would need to know her age on the marriage cert and her father's name to work backwards to the right Elizabeth

pm from Geoff:

"Many thanks for your speedy response and the info you've provided. All I had was marriage & death with d.o.b. I was particularly interested in parents so that I could work backThe scenario of him being registered under his mother's name was something I hadn't even thought of, which had turned him into a bit of an enigma, so I'm very impressed by your obvious experience and truly grateful that you have taken the trouble to help me.
Best Regards, Geoff"

Have replied to Geoff that I didn't find all the info!

Geoff - when you say you have the marriage, do you actually have the certificate? If so does the father's information match what has been found, i.e. Sidney Saunders?

If yiou don't have the certificate then you can order one for £9.25 from the General Register Office (GRO) http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

Were you aware of any siblings for him?

Geoff - I don't know about superior intellect! Yes, we've probably been doing this sort of thing for longer but I guess you're pretty able to catch us up - it's just a case of knowing where to look.

FreeBMD was mentioned above, here's the link http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
