Nala, not to sure if you have to make an appointment but telephone them first. Do not have the number at hand but if you cant find it under Smethwick, look under Sandwell for now that covers Smethwick and surrounding areas.
If you look for the Blue Gates Public House there is a car park at the back of there and the library is adjacent to it.
Good Luck

Hi as previous mentioned Kings Norton is now under Birmingham, but previously under harobrne/smethwick. Archives are held at Smethwick Library, High Street Smethwick.

Thanks for your replies.

my reason for wanting to visit these places are ................

To look up living people.
Establish a few addresses.

Confirm from the Parish Registers to verify the correct dates because of the incorrect ones i was given in 1992 by a paid researcher !!

Are you talking about visiting somewhere in person? if you are, Birmingham Central Library but they are in process of transferring to the new place so opening hours are varied.

Some of us did plan to go this holiday but we've not done it yet.

Waving at you guys :-D

Kings Norton is Birmingham now but did belong to Worcestershire so not sure about the records they hold for KN.

The IGI for Birmingham and Worcestershire is quite good. Have you looked to see if there is anything on there to help you?

If you need to pick brains about KN or Bham or Aston, please feel free to post on here. If I can't answer, maybe BrummieJan or one of the others will.

The same question about someone born/registered in the Aston district.

Thanks from Nala.
