Peter Report 4 Sep 2012 09:17

Hi All,

Many thanks for all your responses. Herbert Fish was born on Sculcoates, Yorks and is indeed listed on the Theipval Memorial. I am aware of his marriage to Annie Bright, my grandmother who later married again to Alfred Nason in Sculcoates. I am trying to find any relations of Herbert Fish who is the only person of this family name in my tree.

Regards and thanks again

That 1918 birth is a bit suspect if Herbert died 1916 ???

We need Peter to come back and confirm what he knows of his mother's siblings (if any).

So, if the death record is correct (and the wife's name does match) then this would be the 1891:

FISH, Charles Head Married M 23 1868 Locomotive Fireman Barrow-On-Humber, Lincolnshire
FISH, Mary Wife Married F 21 1870 Otteringham, Yorkshire
FISH, Herbert Son M 2 1889 Barrow-On-Humber, Lincolnshire

Piece: 2629 Folio: 153 Page: 2
Registration District: Glanford Brigg
Civil Parish: Barrow upon Humber

Address: 4, Alma Terrace, Barrow Road, Barrow Upon Humber, New Holland County: Lincolnshire

Everything seems to match up with the records Chris & I found except his birth year which is shown as 1888 and not the 1883 that Peter stated.
