I'm looking for Birth Records for my grandfather Clarence Shepherd Robb born c. 1893 either in Cape Colony or possibly Aberdeen where his family hailed from.
His Uncle John Shepherd an Architect and niece Elizabeth (Lizzy) Shepherd were also in Cape Colony and it looks like he had an older brother called Lindsay who was born in Southern Africa.
His father was called George Robb and worked in the South African War Office.
Clarence served in the army in South Africa - but by 1915 is barracked at Watford in English army .
He married a Julia Connolly in 1915 (not my grandmother)

i am loking for relatives of my wifes farther he was born in 1893 his fathers name was george robb who i believ he was born in scotland.
i know that george robb woked as a clerkin the south african war department and was working there in 1915

Thanks for the help. I think Shepherd is his maternal grandmother's maiden name as is the Scottish tradition. I think his grandparents were Janet Robb nee Shepherd married to a George Robb in Old Machar in Aberdeen.

Sylvia, I think that's my Uncle, a few years back. I managed to get a bit more info out of the family - but all roads lead to South Africa and I think we need to search records there.
There doesn't seem to be many South African colonial records online.
