Find Ancestors

I have Lorenzo married to Adeline Whiting 1 may 1843 in Nauvoo, Hancock, IL with 2 children born 1844 and 1845. Also married to Susannah Wallace 16 may 1847 in Spafford, Onondago, NY with 8 children between 1848 and 1859. Also married to Priscilla Parrish 22 April 1857 in Salt Lake City with 8 children born between 1858 and 1875. Lastley married to Mercy Ann Deuel 3 Dec 1863 in Salt Lke City with 11 children born between 1865 and 1901.
I have obtained this data fron Gencircles.com and Ancestry.com but it seems wrong that 2 children to Susannah were born after the marriage to Priscilla and 5 children were born to Priscilla after the marriage to Mercy Ann.
In addition, I have Lorenzoo`s death as 24 1876 and the records show that 5 children were born to Mercy after this date.
Was it common in those days for a man to re marry and still have children by his previoius wife?. Would also appreciate clarification of the death date for Lorenzo.

You're welcome Brian, at least I think we've proved Mercy Ann Deuel was Lorenzo's daughter-in-law and not one of his wives.
