St Josephs institution for girls South Manchester

My ancestor was in St Josephs in Chorlton South Manchester in the 1901 census, she was 14. anyone know if I can find out why she was in there?

Poor Law and Workhouse Records
St. Joseph's Industrial Schools
St. Joseph's Industrial Schools were established in 1871 in Victoria Park to provide a Catholic education for the children of Catholics in the Victoria Park and Longsight area.

The records of the Boys School are held at Cheshire Archives.

The records of the Girls School are held by The Daughters of Charity.
