I've noticed people do change their year of birth, but almost never their birthday.

Can't thank you enough Margee, it has arrived and is perfect.

It certainly gives me the proper spelling, Cascinda, also lots of other names to work with.

I shall certainly be busy and may even, eventually, be able to contact some living relations.

The W.J Empey who is mentioned was my Dad's half-sisters husband. When I realize called Cascinda my GGGreat Aunt is total bunkum lol

Thanks so much again

Linda

I'm back, Linda. Just found out that I had a copy of that obit among the million papers that we have in this house. I've just managed to scan it, all by myself, I might add. Normally I do it under hubby's instuctions but he's in bed.

Now shall I try to attach it to a pm on GR or do you want to click on my name and send me your email address? I've never attached anything to a GR message but I'm sure I can do it. However I have been told that you get a better image by attaching to an email message. I don't really know, it's up to you.

On second thought, I'm going to try to attach it to a pm to you.

I think I did it!!!
Don't forget to write the date of the newspaper on it. It was The Cornwall Standard, 16 Jan. 1919.

Will go to our library and look up that obit for Cas. Not tomorrow though, it's a holiday here, Labour Day, and library is closed.

The death for both Cas & AWJ was Lancaster, Ontario, a small town east of Cornwall almost on the Quebec border.

You want some more confusion, Linda?

Thaddeus William Fetterly was later married to Alice Jane Ettie Empey, daughter of Benjamin Empey & Sarah McBride. Benjamin was a brother of Alexander John William,

Thank goodness for that, I was blushing here at the thought of it.

Thanks Margee

No, it's OK, Linda. I think you were just inquiring about Walter James Empey & Margaret Alice White.

p.s. I added more to my previous post to confuse the issue.

Haven't we done this before?
She was Casciinda Brown born 25 Sep. 1835, Ogdensburg, NY and died 5 Jan. 1919, Lancaster, Ontario. She's buried St. Andrew's Cemetery, Williamstown, Ontario.

Her parents were Radford Brown & Eliza Empey. Cascinda had a sister Olivia Brown born 6 Feb. 1838, Ogedensburg. She married William Silas Fetterly. Their son Thaddeus William Fetterly married Eliza Adena Empey, daughter of Alexander J. & Cascinda.

I saw the John William one and thought it was THE one, then I chatted myself out of it. Funny that they give his Father's name and his Mother' maiden name but not the spouse.

I also think that the Walter on the 1911 census is my Dad's BIL mistranscribed as you put above he married my Dad's half sister margaret White aged 50.

Can't find a marriage for a Sarah to a Mans either. It's not that clear is it?
