Unless you can find out the accurate version of his surname, I doubt you'll get far.

His birth will be on Scotlands people, which is pay-to-view, but as you are so unsure of anything about him, it will be very difficult to pinpoint the correct record.

Just a hunch................Is paternity the reason for this request?

Robert PATTERSON, PATTISON, OR PATERSON born c.1921-23(?) May originate from Dundee(?) and possibly have family connections in Hampshire. Robert was a bagpiper in the Royal Scots Fuseliers and may have served in Burma and/or Madagascar during WW2. Robert's father was a senior officer (Air Commodore) in the RAF. Robert was at some point posted to Wadhurst, East Sussex were he befriended the Watts family of George St.
I have scoured numerous records to no avail.
