SEARCHING TREES

Hello, Firstly, I put a name in the search trees (quite a few years ago) and sent messages off to about five people who matched my search. I can't seem to find these replies anywhere. Any suggestions? Secondly, if I think I may have searched an ancestors name on this board before can I do a search to make sure so that I don't duplicate it.
Thanks

If they have deleted their account the messages would go also....but unlikely that all five would have done that

Marian, to see if you've made a request previously there is a link down the left side of the page called "My Threads" - click on that and if you've made any posts they will be in there.

I assumed Marian meant pm's MC I would have thought she would know how to find her threads with over 300 posts....then again maybe she has forgotten

Jax I know how to find my threads but when I first started I didn't put names, just for instance "1861 census" or "1881 census" so rather than trawl through them I wondered if there was an easy way to search.

Use the advanced search.....put in your ancestor's name as the topic, or whatever they call it now...................and your name as the author

Select the appropriate 'forum'...........

Since the site was 'improved'......ha ha.....you have to specify the forum. There isn't an option for ALL boards to be searched.

I suspect that is something to do with the fact GR's operating system isn't robust enough to cope with such searches.
