If he had a 'career' in the Royal Marines, there is no necessity to consider his involvement in any conflict

I will put this to my new found relative

The William Richard S. that Choccy posted looks quite promising, I think.

If you don't have his birth cert, you can't be sure who his parents were - and even then.....................

Mark

Mark Report 27 Aug 2012 12:40

You say he was your gt. grandmother's sister's son? What was her name and her sister's name?

Edit: Sorry, Mark, stupid question, you gave parents' names. My excuse, early morning here, hadn't had my coffee yet, brain not in gear!

Mark

Mark Report 27 Aug 2012 12:28

His mother was born in Waterloo. lancs so west derby could be a poss yes

possibly also another conflict and not necessarily ww2 due to age as you say

Mark

Mark Report 27 Aug 2012 12:27

I see what you mean yes Margee sorry

He must of been illigitimate then with a fairly big gap between the births

If he was born after 1934 it's unlikely he was in WW2 after a career in the marines. He would have only been 5 when the war started.

Mark

Mark Report 27 Aug 2012 12:20

have searched ancestry

i pressume he must of died during ww2 as his sibblings were born 1935/44

his parents married in 1934

Mark, where have you looked for a birth?

When was he supposed to be born, and when did he die?

I have found out that my great grandmothers sister had a son called Stephen Harrison - family information says

died quite young after a career in the marines when he was injured

His parents are William Harrison and Jane Roberts c1906-1996.

Possibly Southport but cannot be certain - Thanks
