Thank you all very much for your help. I have several CD's from Cambridgshire FHS through which I have traced his family. I have also been on Family Search but had missed Josiah Manning, baptised 27.4.1826. Also census details from 1841 onwards. I will pursue these all a bit further and see where I get. |

March, St. Wendreda: Records of baptisms 1548-1959, marriages 1548-1939, burials 1548-1951 and banns 1754-1974 reside in the Cambridge Record Office. The Bishop's Transcripts for the years 1599-1639, 1661-1880 can be found in the Cambridge University Library. Indexed transcripts exist in the Cambridge Record Office for baptisms, marriages, and burials 1548-1872. Parish register transcripts of March St Wendreda, 1547-1872, are available in full transcript form, on microfiche, from the Cambridgeshire Family History Society Bookstall. |

I am trying to find details of the birth of my great great grandfather Matthew Manning who was born c1800. In 1822 he married Eleanor (Ellen) Anker at March in Cambridgeshire. The 1841 census shows him living in March and states that he was born in Cambridgeshire. He died in 1849 also in March.So far I have not been able to trace his birth and subsequently who his parents are. |
