Thank you all very much for your help. I have several CD's from Cambridgshire FHS through which I have traced his family. I have also been on Family Search but had missed Josiah Manning, baptised 27.4.1826. Also census details from 1841 onwards. I will pursue these all a bit further and see where I get.

Have you tried Family Search site

I am trying to find details of the birth of my great great grandfather Matthew Manning who was born c1800. In 1822 he married Eleanor (Ellen) Anker at March in Cambridgeshire. The 1841 census shows him living in March and states that he was born in Cambridgeshire. He died in 1849 also in March.So far I have not been able to trace his birth and subsequently who his parents are.
Can anyone help please?
