Those 2 records are the same man.
It says reg number 9950 on cover but when you read through both records his number is 73543
His occupation Rivet maker
he enlisted 8/8/1914 and served 4 years 272 days
Discharged 11/8/1920 on completion of service.
He married Bertha May Currell at St James West Hartlepool 19/3/1918 witnessed by A Hughes and G Oxley?
His address 25,Crossley Street West Hartlepool
Parents James and Harriett Hughes of 43,Hill Street.

There are 26 pages attached to him.

Address at time of enlistment
83 Breanda/Brenda Street West Hartlepool.

He was in 32nd battalion Machine Gun Corps.

There are two records at Ancestry but having flicked through them, they dont look like your man

Most WW1 records were destroyed in WW11 by fire

Hi wondered if anyone can help i am trying to find my grandads army records his name is richard hughes he was born 1896 in seaton carew county durham , not sure when he joined the army but i know he was in the army when he married his wife bertha in 1918 if anyone could help me that would be fantastic also if anyone could find out what his service number is and where he was based thanks linda
