Thank you for your replies. I was thinking it might be one of the records lost but I will check out the other options you have mentioned.

Hello Jeanette, Ancestry has some WW1 records on-line, I guess it would include Welsh - we could take a look if you say who. Bear in mind that over 60% of WW1 records were destroyed during WW2, though.

Just my thoughts, but if Kew only had the medal card then maybe your chaps was one of the records lost.

Surviving WW1 records are on Ancestry. Post a name and any other details you have if you want a lookup

Can anyone tell me where I can find 1st World War Welsh Regiment records. I have tried Kew . All I can find is a medal card
