I have a birth certificate at that address in June 1891, but don't seem to be able to track the same family on the 1891 census here.

Hi, Thanks for responding. That wasn't who I was expecting.
The birth certificate I have is for Herbert Charles Gabriel Cook, 11-06-1891 born at 257 Lancaster Road, Kensington.
Parents are listed as "Charles Herbert Cook" and "Ada Augusta Cook (formerly Wilkins)" of the same address.
I don't seem to be able to find a marriage in these names, nor find the couple on the 1891 census.
If anyone has more luck than me, I'd be overjoyed!

Thanks - yes, that is the correct Ada Augusta Wilkins in 1881 I believe, and the correct couple for 1901/1911.
I haven't been able to locate them on the 1891. It's not vital, but I hoped it might offer some clue about the mother's maiden name for Ada. Looks like I may need to order the certificate.

Yes, I just tracked that down too. Explains her absence later, obviously.
Still no wiser as to the whereabouts of Ada Snr in early 1891 though, or the when of her marriage (if any) to Charles!
