If the GRO index is wrong, there is no point in asking fmp to amend their record.

They transcribe the info as given, and if their transcription is accurate, that's the end of their responsibility

If it is a major issue for you, try contacting the GRO

Reggie is right, the same applies for other images.

I made a transcription change notification - click on View Original Image, then in top right corner there are options to report image fault or transcription change

It is the GRO index that is wrong, my twin sister follows my name and mothers name is correct for her.

So, is it a birth.....or marriage?

Have you looked at the image?

Have you compared it with the same record on other sites?

It may be that the GRO index is wrong

No it is not a census, it is my mothers maiden name that is have wrong, the record says Whithead and it should be Whitbread

If so..........call up the image...........then look top right for options

If the site is Ancestry, FMP, or freebmd..........reporting errors is catered for

Without knowing which site you're referring to it's difficult to advise - they all have their own reporting mechanisms .....

I have found a mistake on info on another site, but I cannot find anything that will allow me to correct that info, any suggestions please.
