:-D Thank you all so much it certainly sounds like the Arthur and Bertha you found are the ones I am looking for, what baffles me is how on earth I missed them when I was looking my only defence is I had gone cross eyed and tired.
Once again thank you, oh regarding Janet thier daughter, her birth date being 1934 makes sense I thought it was 1923 and whilst I know people can and do live to a great age I had a gut feeling that I'd got the year wrong.

Hi I wonder if anyone can help, I am trying to find the marriage of Bertha Simcock to Arthur Salt.
The only info on Arthur I have is his name I cant find a birth or a marriage record for him, Bertha is my great aunt who comes from the Endon area of Stoke -on- Trent (her brother my grandfather married at St Luke's Endon) I did think that most brides married in their area as apposed to the grooms area.
Bertha d.o.b is 1893 and Arthur is c1894, I did wonder if they could have married when Arthur returned from the war (thats if he did indeed serve in WW1) they had a daughter Janet d.o.b 1923.
The coincedence is that I am married to a Salt and they come from Crewe so I looked at Cheshire BMD's to no avail.

Thank you
