There is a John and Mary Stockdale both aged 69 (born c 1772) living in Kirkburton. John is a fancy weaver. there also Joseph aged 18 also a fancy weaver.

Have you got Samuel in 1851 and 1861 he was a fancy weaver as well.

Sam married Ann Rowley on 05/07/1829 at Kirkburton Parish Church they both signed with a cross. Witnesses were Ann and John Stockdale (his parents maybe)

Reggie

This is the posters first ever post.
Possibly they did not know the IGI existed.
Was your condescending comment " That was easy, wasn't it?" REALLY necessary?

I don't think it was but then maybe I haven't forgotten what it was like when I first started out over ten years ago researching my family tree. Perhaps as my mother used to say "if you can't think of something nice or useful to say it is better to say nothing at all"

Wendy

EDIT....Good to see that Reggie has removed his condescending post!

I am stuck I have found him in the 1841 census that far back and he was born around 1803 in Kirkburton and yet I can not find his birth record or who his parents were. I get so far and it all sticks on maiden names. Help
