yes and have visited Lancashire record office on many occassions but aware that there are thousands of documents of the area and many times you come by a name or reference in the most unrelated of areas. i was hoping that if someone was rearching these families they could keep an eye out for a reference to Cannon in their searches, including the review of original documents in the Archives

The dates i am looking at are before 1800. The cannon family worked Capernwray mill from about 1791 and before that a mill at Whit beck near Priest Hutton. there are some references to the Cannon's in 'old hutton' which is near Borwick. I am interested in finding the wider family and occupation, or just any reference to them so that i can build a bigger picture. would you be able to help in any way, or point me in a particular direction?

If anyone is looking into the Washington or Binloss families of Borwick and comes across references to the surname Cannon, could you please let me know. Cannon is in my ancestory line and i am sure they rented a Mill/ house from the binloss or washington families but to date have been unable to find details in any original records
