Now I can see the 1916 Prescot kid (Frank) belonging to this lot,
and surely the 3 Barton kids belong together, but then Amy would be 47 when she had Olive - not impossible, but she's also not called Sarah, and would have to move from Prescot to Barton/Worsely.

I really think you need Shirl & Gordo's m.cert to see who your Gordo's dad is.
It's quite poss the Sarah your dad remembers is a 2nd wife, maybe of Thos.
With the dad's name, you can order the Barton Gordo's b.cert, conditional on the dad matching Shirl's Gordo's dad. Maybe Shirl's Gordo's folks never wed, or maybe they wed on holiday on the Isle of Man.
Anyways with an addy from Gordo's b.cert, you can possibly track them on the electoral rolls. Women didn't get the vote until a couple of y after Olive's birth, though.

NB The ref is Manchester 1956 Sept quarter vol=10e page=495.
Ancestry might have the wrong page for one of the couple, but I've checked both images.

EDIT clarified Gordo's 7 lines earlier

the fathers brothers name was jack young and their mothers name was sarah young. from anthony.

i am trying to find some info on my daughter inlaws family for her ,the mothers name was shirley homewood born around 1938, she married a man called gordon young they had four girls,i think shirley died about 5 years ago in stevenage herts .thank you .a .s. evans.
